Valley Temple of Khafre

The Valley Temple of Khafre, located at the Giza Plateau near the Great Sphinx, was built during the reign of Pharaoh Khafre (c. 2558–2532 BCE). It served as a key part of his funerary complex, where the king’s body was received, purified, and prepared for burial. Made from massive limestone blocks and faced with polished granite, the temple is one of the best-preserved examples of Old Kingdom architecture.
