In Tsou language, "poftonga-veoveo" means "block" and "veoveo" means "sika deer". It is because the ancestors of the Tsou tribe once lived here. They chased the sika deer to the cliffs of Chukou Mountain and hunted them. In order to commemorate the ancestors who once lived here, and the fact that this place was the early hunting ground of the ancestors of the Tsou tribe, the community was named "Zhulu". The Tsou Zhulu Tribe of Alishan is not only a comprehensive recreational area with Tsou dance and music, cultural displays and market sales, but also displays and sells many aboriginal handicrafts and cultural and creative products, agricultural souvenirs, aboriginal-flavored special drinks, coffee and special foods. On weekends and holidays, singers from other tribes perform live performances.
