Children aged 3-5 are not recommended to join this activity
Physical fitness is not a requirement to enjoy a ballooning adventure, but passengers must be able to climb up and inside the basket (there are foot holes), and stand for the duration of the flight, as there are no seats in the basket. The basket has secure high sides to lean on
Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) rules and regulations and Outback Ballooning’s policy does not allow women who are over 12 weeks pregnant to join the experience. Persons with medical conditions participating in the balloon flight and pack up activities can do so at their own risk
People with illnesses and/or recent surgeries that may affect the person or other persons participating in the activity must notify the operator in advance. Medication should be brought at the location
For the 60 minute experience, the flight time may be separated into two flights with a short break or changeover in between, depending on operational restrictions. Passengers will be notified the day prior to their scheduled experience
For participants who wish to join the experience with their friends but do not want to ride the balloon, you may book the “Desert Balloon Chase” package. Please note, however, that the booking for this package does not guarantee you a seat in the vehicle. If there is not enough seat in the vehicle, the operator will reject the booking and you will not be charged
Please note that the start time varies every single day depending on the sunrise time. The exact pick up time will be shown on the voucher after the booking is confirmed
The sunrise time may slightly change on your scheduled date, which usually happens if the booking date is too far from the scheduled flight date. In this case, the operator will contact you to re-confirm the slightly adjusted pick up time
If the minimum number of bookings (2) is not met on the scheduled departure, the activity may be canceled. You will be given the option of booking an alternative date or requesting a full refund
It is dusty in the Outback. Outdoor clothing (preferably not white), long pants, and hat or cap are recommended
Closed flat heel shoes are essential. It is warmer in the balloon than on the ground, but it can be cooler before sunrise. Warm clothing may be necessary for May-Sep bookings
Loose items, such as dangling jewelery and scarves are not permitted once passengers reach the launch site and disembarks from the bus
Sometimes driving through just a small part of the Australian Outback isn't enough to count as a one-for-the-books experience. With this activity, you'll rise up above the gorgeous Alice Springs region on a hot air balloon flight! Much of the Outback's land is only accessible via a few bush tracks on the ground—but from the air you'll be granted a full view of its wonders. See the colors and shapes of the landscape come alive, and get a new perspective on the Australian territory. Because the flight starts very early in the morning, you can admire the golden hues of daybreak spreading across famous formations like the West MacDonnell Ranges. Drift over the barren landscape and spot wildlife from the air, too! When you land, enjoy light refreshments and take home a certificate of your experience. This activity is for you if you want a great way to see the Outback.
