In 2014, it was inscribed as part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Silk Roads: the Routes Network of Chang’an–Tianshan Corridor," recognizing its historical and cultural significance. The site also includes ancient mausoleums, balbals (stone grave markers), and city ruins.
The Konorchek Canyons are striking red sandstone formations located in the Boom Gorge of Kyrgyzstan, about 125 km from Bishkek. Known for their dramatic cliffs, narrow passages, and unique shapes, they are often called “Kyrgyzstan’s Grand Canyon.” The area is popular for hiking and photography, offering stunning views shaped by millions of years of wind and water erosion.
