Canal Central de Aveiro

Aveiro, next to the sea and the ria (estuary), is crossed by a network of channels through which moliceiros (local boats) meander. These slim, colourful vessels used to be used to collect algae and seaweed, and today are for sightseeing trips. Aveiro has a number of buildings in Art Nouveau style that are worth seeing. Many are situated along the main channel, but there are some off the beaten track and in other locations. You will be able to tour the city in a boat, trough the channel´s and learn the history of Aveiro Emblematic of the city is the sweet made with eggs and sugar - the “ovos moles" (soft eggs) that are sold in wooden barrels or wrapped in a crusty wafer in different shapes.

Obidos Village

Óbidos is one of the most picturesque and well-preserved villages in Portugal. Within the walls, we find a well-preserved castle and a maze of streets and white houses that enchant those who stroll through it. From the hidden corners and enclosed gardens of the old medina to the presence of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque styles, the village is a vast work of art, rebuilt over several centuries. As for the local cuisine, indulge in our fish stew from the Óbidos Lagoon. To finish off your meal, why not try the famous Ginjinha de Óbidos, which can be enjoyed in several places, preferably in a chocolate cup. This historical heritage from other times, combined with today's dynamic cultural programme, make Óbidos a major tourist attraction.
