Your day begins with a morning rendezvous with our tour guide at your hotel at 8, 9, or 10 a.m. From there, you'll set off to explore the world-renowned Egyptian Museum, located in the Midan El Tahrir Geographical Society Building. Islamic Cairo
In the afternoon, your journey continues with a drive to Islamic Cairo, starting with a visit to the 12th-century Citadel of Saladin. Within the walls of this medieval fortress, you'll discover the magnificent Alabaster Mosque, which was constructed by Mohamed Ali. This sacred site occupies a location once inhabited by Mameluke and Ottoman palaces. Your exploration of Islamic Cairo will take about 2 hours.
Coptic Cairo
Your adventure then leads you to Christian Old Cairo, where the Romans constructed the fortress of Babylon. Built atop the ruins of the fortress's two towers is the Church of St. Mary, also known as El-Moallaqah (meaning overhanging or suspended). This unique name derives from the church's construction overhanging the ancient ruins. One of the most popular names for this church is the Hanging Church. During your visit, you'll also have the opportunity to explore the Church of St. Sergius, which dates back to the end of the 4th century. It stands on a crypt with the storied history of sheltering the Holy Family during their flight to Egypt.
