Booking THE PORTO ESSENTIALS Wine & Food Tour with Pedro & o Vinho will allow you to discover the secrets behind Portuguese wines & food and how this relation influences our culture, history and daily food habits. This tour will be guided by Pedro himself, a WSET level 2 wine lover who grew up in the Portuguese wine industry and dedicated half of their career to working and learning with some of Portugal's most recognized wine producers. Pedro is passionate about studying the Portuguese wine & food culture and how this liquid jewel influences the perception of values, tastings and flavours from Portugal`s food scene. During the tour, you will have the opportunity to travel through Porto's history and culture, taste traditional and daily finger food, why Pedro presented them on the menu and how these dishes are the perfect pairing with specific wines or beers. As we said in Portugal, the best friendships are born seated at a table, sharing comfort food and a glass of wine!
This PORTO ESSENTIALS FOOD TOUR has been designed for small groups (eight persons max.), to offer a deep insight into the daily food habits of Porto citizens and explore an amazing set of flavours that will let you lick your fingers during the six different stages of the tour. From the most tender "Rojão" (pork meat cooked in low heat for hours), to the best "Pataniscas" in town (codfish cakes), and even a cheese and wine tasting inside an old church transformed into a wine bar, this wine & food tour will guide you through a fantastic and unexpected wine & food experience that you won't forget. The goal of this experience was to share and show a little of my daily habits inside the traditional "Petiscos" houses (finger and shared food restaurants), and the secrets behind Portuguese wine & food pairings that I used to enjoy inside these places. You will live a gastronomic and cultural experience at the same time you learn about history topics and how they influence Porto and Portugal's wine & food traditions, guided by a wine lover and expert who loves to share their passion for his customs. The tour ends with a traditional Portuguese dinner a sweet gift from Pedro & o Vinho.
