Fatehpur Sikri

Fatehpur Sikri was the first meticulously planned city of the Mughals, boasting an impressive array of administrative, residential, and religious buildings. These included palaces for royalty and their courtiers; public buildings such as mosques; and living quarters for both the king's army and servants. In its entirety, it is a remarkable example of urban design from this era. Because of its historical importance as the capital of the Mughal Empire and its outstanding architecture, Fatehpur Sikri was awarded the status of UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986

Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal is a symbol of India's grandeur and has been recognized as one of the world's most celebrated masterpieces. In 1983, it was officially designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its outstanding Mughal architecture and cultural significance. It stands today as an iconic representation of India’s rich history and culture. The iconic Taj Mahal was constructed by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Construction began in 1632 AD and finished sixteen years later, with the mosque, guest house and main gateway located on the south side being completed first before additional features such as its outer courtyard and cloisters were added between 1648-1653 AD.
