— What You Can Expect —

Set off on a walking tour around the town of Taal and see the traces of its rich cultural heritage. Spend around 20–30 minutes at each important site. Visit the Basilica de San Martin de Tours, famous for being the biggest church in the Orient. Stop off at the house of Doña Marcela Agoncillo, the woman who made the first Philippine flag.

Pay tribute to the Our Lady of Caysasay Shrine, a beautiful Catholic church established in 1603. Walk through Galleria Taal, a historical house-turned-museum exhibiting old photographs of the Philippines and vintage cameras. Visit the homes of other revolutionaries in Taal, Batangas, and more.

Make a stop at the Miraculous Well of Sta. Lucia, where the Virgin of Caysasay performed miracles and where a church was built by the townsfolk. See how the violence of an 18th-century earthquake sank the church, yet its half-immersed facade remains intact. Learn about how after the quake, spring water gushed out of the twin doors.

Take a trip to the market, where you can shop for an array of the most popular embroidery, like the barong tagalog, mantel, fans, saya, placemats, and many more wonderful hand-made goods, made from a wide choice of materials. Treat yourself and choose from an assortment of other delicious local delicacies.
