Train like a real samurai—not as a tourist, but as a warrior in practice. This immersive experience takes place at a dojo in Tokyo’s Kojimachi district, once part of Edo Castle’s inner grounds where samurai honed their skills. Begin by learning samurai etiquette and the spirit of Bushido, followed by breathing techniques and meditation to calm the mind. Then move on to wooden sword drills, strength training with a heavy stick, and silent walking exercises to test your posture and focus—like a ninja. Next, learn real combat sword techniques and apply them in one-on-one sparring with an instructor. As a final challenge, test your precision by slicing paper with a real sword. During a break, enjoy matcha green tea and Japanese sweets in a quiet, cultural setting. At the end, receive a personalized scroll-style certificate with your name and the techniques you learned. You’ll also wear traditional samurai attire and take a commemorative photo. The entire experience is in English and beginner-friendly. A rare chance to go beyond sightseeing and truly become the samurai. Minimum 2 participants required.
