The route starts with the Isherwood's Berlin story at Nollendorfplatz after which we move to the corner described in the book "Every Man Dies Alone" by Hans Fallada, based on the real life events of the WWII. We drive to the nearby Kudamm Boulevard and pay the visit to the spots where Joseph Roth, Robert Musil, Kafka, Walser, Remarque lived & wrote their famous books. The tour ends at Halensee, where Nabokov met his life long companion Vera and wrote nine of his novels. We will discuss some historical circumstances and places in Kudamm area, like Bleibtreustraße, Romanisches Cafe etc. The tour lasts around two hours, while stop at each spot and discussion takes about 10 minutes. The public transportation ticket would be required.
