The tour begins with a visit to the internal tourist port of the city of Brindisi. The port of Brindisi is one of the most important tourist, commercial and industrial ports in the Adriatic Sea and its history is closely linked to Rome, as we will see from the columns considered terminals of the Appian Way. During the panoramic tour of the port it will be possible to admire the beauty of the city seafront and the Monument to the Italian Sailor which emerges from the other side of the city.
The tour includes a short stop at the Fountain of the Empire in Brindisi. The monumental fountain stands at the foot of Piazza Santa Teresa and was dedicated in 1940 to Duce Benito Mussolini.
We will reach the characteristic Temple of San Giovanni al Sepolcro, clear evidence of the close relationship between the city of Brindisi and the Holy Land. The structure appears to be the most faithful replica of the Anastasis rotunda in Jerusalem. Circular in shape, it preserves some frescoes inside, representing saints and sacred scenes. During the stop, it will be possible to explore the temple and the internal garden.
