The Brimstone Hill Fortress is a steep volcanic hill which is nearly 800 feet high with steep and precipitous slopes overlooking the Caribbean Sea, This is a fascinating UNESCO World Heritage site and feat of engineering. Designed by the British and built by African slaves, the fortress was finished in 1790 after 100 years of construction.
Once a slave-holding sugar plantation, the 17th-century Romney Manor has been given new life as one of the island’s most beloved local crafts boutiques, Caribelle Batik. While here, make time to explore the grounds featuring gorgeous tropical botanical gardens and a host of ancient Carib petroglyphs on lava rocks.
For a gorgeous view of St. Kitts and neighboring island of Nevis, head up to the top of Timothy Hill, a popular lookout spot where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Caribbean Sea at the island’s southeast peninsula. In the background you'll also have a view of our sister island Nevis. See Friar’s Bay and Frigate Bay below, alongside green gently sloping hills falling into the water below.

Please keep in mind that the lines for tenders can be long, and it is very important that you are on one of the first tenders to shore to ensure you are on time for your tour. The tender ride can take up to 15 minutes, depending on current weather conditions and where your ship anchors. We highly recommend requesting additional information on the tender process at the front desk of your ship the day before your arrival, so that you can be prepared for the day of the tour. The tour leaves promptly at the scheduled departure time listed above. If your ship arrives late, please debark as soon as possible.
