— What You Can Expect —

  • Tsuruoka Hachimangu Shrine
Visit Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine, the spiritual center and guardian of the Kamakura shogunate since 1192. With over 800 years of history, it has witnessed the region's rise and fall. Alongside Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine in Kyoto and Usa-Jingu Shrine in Oita, it's one of Japan's three major Hachimangu Shrines. The main palace and Wakamiya are important cultural properties, ideal for fans of Japanese traditional architecture. Experience changing floral landscapes throughout the seasons, especially renowned for cherry blossoms and maple leaves.
  • The Great Buddha
Visit the Great Buddha of Kamakura at Kotokuin Temple, constructed in 1252 AD with a blend of Japanese and Song Dynasty styles. A symbol of Kamakura and a national treasure, it's Japan's second largest Buddha statue after Todaiji Temple in Nara Prefecture. During the Kamakura Shogunate era, its significance grew with the local area's development, making it a cultural icon of Kamakura and the Kanto region.
  • Enoshima
Explore Enoshima, a charming island off the coast of Shonan, known for its local seafood, especially fresh baby sardine dishes, sold in restaurants and snack stands along its shopping streets! Visit "Enoshima-jinja Shrine," one of Japan's three major Benzaiten shrines, to pray for prosperity in business and knowledge. Additionally, you can visit the famous "Slam Dunk" filming location, the level crossing in front of Kamakura High School, and experience the real anime scenes by taking the Enoshima Electric Railway.
  • Morito Daimyojin & Manase Coast
Explore the history of Morito Daimyojin, with its main shrine over 400 years old and designated as a local important cultural property. The grounds boast numerous pine and sacred trees, offering a spectacular view of Mt. Fuji and the sea. Nearby, the Manase Coast features stunning blue waters, perfect for a summer seaside stroll. Capture the beauty of Mt. Fuji against the backdrop of the torii gate and lighthouse on the sea, a must-see for photography enthusiasts.
