Experience Waitomo’s latest eco-adventure with the exclusive Okohua Glowworm Cave Tour. Starting just 10 minutes from Waitomo village at Tumu Tumu Station, you'll meet expert guides and get equipped for the journey. A short walk through picturesque farmland leads to a hidden cave entrance, where your underground adventure begins. Drift through ancient tunnels on inner tubes under thousands of glowing worms, explore spring-fed pools, and, when conditions allow, ride a natural rock slide shaped by time. After resurfacing into native bush, enjoy a tranquil forest walk and unwind in a cedar hot tub with breathtaking views. The Waitomo Experience is a family-owned and operated adventure, set on the stunning Tumu Tumu Station. With a strong commitment to the long-term sustainability of the cave environment, we limit each tour to a maximum of six people. This ensures a more intimate, personalized, and enjoyable experience for every visitor. Our farm is proudly carbon positive, meaning it sequesters more carbon than it emits—an important part of our dedication to protecting the land for future generations to enjoy.
