The capital of the Kingdom of Mysore was Mysore (or Mysuru), a city in the southwest Indian state of Karnataka. It served as such from 1399 until 1947. The luxurious Mysore Palace, the home of the once-ruling Wodeyar dynasty, sits in the middle of it. The palace is a fusion of Rajput, Gothic, Islamic, and Hindu elements.
