Our bus tour takes you to at the base of Mt. Fuji. If the Fuji Subaru Line is closed, or if there is inclement weather and we have determined that views may not be seen from Mt. Fuji 4th Station and 5th Station, the tour will be guided to an alternative facility.

Mt. Fuji 5th Station

The bus will head up to the 5th Station along the Subaru Line or the highest point accessible. The 5th Station is situated at 2,300 meters (7,546 feet) above sea level. At this height, you will be amazed at spectacular, breathtaking views from above the clouds.

[Only for with Lunch option] Enjoy a Japanese-style meal with tea/coffee. Aside from a Japanese-style meal, available menus include a Vegetarian meal, Muslim-friendly meal, and Indian thali meal. Please make a request when booking. During the lunch break, there will be a wadaiko (Japanese drum) performance, one of Japan's traditional arts performed by the Social Welfare Corporation Fugakukai. Enjoy a spectacular performance featuring powerful tones and rhythms rich in emotion. [For No Lunch option] Meals are not included. Please prepare lunch in advance on your own.

  • Important Notes: On a typical year, the 5th Station may be visited from around late April to November, but during the winter months (around December to early April), the Fuji Subaru Line will be closed due to snowfall, road surface freezing, etc
  • If the Fuji Subaru Line is closed, or if there is inclement weather and we have determined that views may not be seen from Mt. Fuji 4th Station and 5th Station, the tour will be guided to any of the following alternative facilities. Alternative Facilities: Fujisan Museum, Lake Kawaguchi Oishi Park, Fujisan World Heritage Center, Itchiku Kubota Art Museum, Oshino Hakkai
  • Due to weather conditions, Mt. Fuji may not be visible even from the base. However, the tour will not be canceled and refunds will not be given for this reason
  • If the Lake Ashi Cruise and Komagatake Ropeway are not operating due to weather conditions, or if stops cannot be made due to road conditions and congestion at sightseeing destinations, the tour will be guided to any of the following alternative facilities. The tour will not be canceled and refunds will not be issued for this reason. Alternative Facilities: Appare Sightseeing Boat on Lake Kawaguchi, Swan Lake Cruise Ship on Lake Yamanaka, Hakone Pirate Ship, Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway, Hakone Ropeway, Hakone Jukkokutoge Panoramic Cable Car, Itchiku Kubota Art Museum, Fujiyama Museum, Narukawa Art Museum, Hakone-en Aquarium, Ninja Bus, Oshino Shinobi no Sato, Hakone Checkpoint, Odawara Castle, Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine, Higashiguchi Hongu Sengen Shrine, Oshino Hakkai, Hakone Shrine, Hakone Sekisho Tabimonogatarikan (Shop), Owakudani
  • Depending on the season and day of the week, traffic conditions may vary, and arrival time at each location may be considerably delayed

  • During the lunch break, there will be a Wadaiko "Japanese drum" performance, one of Japan's traditional arts performed by the Social Welfare Corporation Fugakukai. Please note that the tour may not be able to view the performance in case arrival is considerably delayed due to road conditions, or the tour is unable to reach the intended meal venue. Furthermore, depending on the circumstances of the facility, the performance may be canceled without prior notice. It has been attracting attention both domestically and internationally as a support for social independence training and artistic activities. By sending customers, Sunrise Tours can create performance opportunities and support their activities
  • [Multilingual audio-guide available only for Shinjuku departure] We offer GPS-enabled audio guides in Chinese, Spanish, Italian, Thai, and French for use in our dedicated tour vehicles. To request one, specify your preferred language in the "Special requirement" field when booking (e.g., "Spanish audio guide request"). Note that same-day requests cannot be accommodated. Please be aware that audio guides are limited in number and may not be available for every participant. No refunds will be given if the audio guide is unusable due to weak signals, device issues, Wi-Fi problems, or other technical difficulties. The guides may not function if there are changes to the tour itinerary
  • Depending on the number of tour participants, transportation to be used may be other than a large bus (mid-size bus, small bus, hired car, etc.)
  • As there are locations to be visited on this tour such as Mt. Fuji 5th Station, etc. with lower temperatures compared to Tokyo, bringing warm clothing is recommended (Reference: Even in the daytime, temperatures may drop to 14℃ in summer and -5℃ in winter.)
  • Parental permission in writing is necessary for all tour participants under the age of eighteen. Any participant under the age of fifteen or not yet enrolled in middle school must be joined by a parent or guardian on the tour

End Points

  • Odawara Station is the drop off point for below options " End at Odawara". Odawara Station is good for travelers who want to use bullet trains, or go to other prefectures. Customers can also end the tour at Hakone-en. Please let us know in the special request form when booking.
  • Shinjuku West Station is the drop off point for below options "End at Shinjuku". Please head to your next destination on your own from Shinjuku. The National Government Licensed English Guide Interpreter will inform customers how to return afterwards.

• If you have arrived at the pickup location but have trouble finding the meeting point, you can call the local operator JTB Sunrise Tours on +81 3 5796 5454 (Operated between 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Japan time) for assistance. • In case bookings have been made separately, you may be assigned to be on separate tour buses. • Please make sure you go to the correct pickup location for the location you selected at the time of booking. You cannot change your pickup location without confirmation from the local tour operator • Bringing a coat or additional warm clothing is recommended especially in the spring, autumn and winter • This tour will depart regardless of weather or traffic conditions, unless you are notified otherwise. Viator and your local tour provider will not be responsible for poor visibility of Mt Fuji or itinerary changes due to unforeseen circumstances • If Mt. Fuji's 5th Station cannot be reached due to road surface freezing, an accident on the Fuji Subaru Line, or weather conditions, the tour will be taken to the highest elevation point possible. No alternative destinations are planned when the tour reaches beyond the 1st Station. When the tour has to turn back at the 1st Station, or when the Fuji Subaru Line is completely blocked, the tour will visit Fujisan World Heritage Center or Lake Kawaguchi Oishi Park. Please note that an alternative itinerary may also be omitted depending on road conditions. • Allergy-friendly meals, etc. are not available. Customers with allergies should reserve the tour without lunch included.
