Itinerary

Lake Kawaguchiko

Lake Kawaguchi is located in the town of Fujikawaguchiko in southern Yamanashi Prefecture near Mount Fuji, Japan. It is the second largest of the Fuji Five Lakes in terms of surface area, and is located at the lowest elevation. It is situated at an altitude of approximately 800 meters (2,625 ft), which accounts for its relatively cool summers and frequently icy winters. It also has the longest shoreline of any of the Fuji Five Lakes.

Oishi Park

At the "Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center" in the park, you can participate in a jam-making experience using local blueberries. In addition, there is a café and restaurant that offer a stunning view of Mount Fuji, souvenir shops, and more, making it a place where you can enjoy the magnificent scenery and indulge in various other activities! The center also features playground equipment, a multi-purpose square, and "Oishi-ya," a store selling locally grown fresh vegetables, allowing you to have a leisurely day.

Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Jinja Shrine

Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine is one of approximately 1,300 Asama shrines in Japan that shrine the deity of volcanoes in general and Mount Fuji in particular. The shrine is part of the Mt. Fuji. the origin of the Asama faith is unclear, some of the shrines are known to date back to at least 29 BCE. Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine is said to have been established in 100 CE, beginning as a small shrine built to celebrate the visit of Yamato Takeru, the legendary prince of the Yamato dynasty, who passed through here on his way to Kai Province. In 788, Konohanasakuya-hime and the spirit of Yamato Takeru were enshrined in a bid to mitigate the frequent eruptions of Mt. Fuji.
