This workshop includes not just how to make Kyoto style sushi but the history and cultural background of sushi. You can also taste different types of vinegar and sushi rice and learn how to grate fresh wasabi, which will be unique and deepen your knowledge related to sushi. Although Nigiri and rolls are popular sushi style across the world, there're different types of sushi style in Kyoto which has the even longer history than Nigiri and rolls. In this workshop, first you will learn the history and cultural background of sushi. Then taste different types of vinegar and sushi rice and learn how to grate fresh wasabi. You will also enjoy making a delicious meal of your own with the expert guidance of the host. Chiashi-zushi - seasoned rice with various ingredients on top such as prawn and thin sliced egg. All ingredients are cooked. Easy to make even for small children. Can be vegetarian. Oshi-zushi - pressed sushi of sushi rice with row fish. Traditional Kyoto style sushi. Can be gluten free. Please let us know if you have request for food such as vegetarian or gluten free options. Participation Fee 11,000 JPY / person (7years old or older) Preschooler (under 7 years old) is free.
