Itinerary

Culloden Battlefield

We will visit Culloden Battlefield just outside Inverness. Culloden Battlefield is the site of the last battle fought on british soil and one that marked the end of the Jacobite uprising and the Highland way of life. Our guide will walk you around the battlefield bringing it to life with vivid descriptions and historial insights into that fateful day in 1746

Clava Cairns

Clava Cairns are a group of prehistoric burial monuments located near Inverness in the Scottish Highlands, dating back around 4,000 years to the Bronze Age. They consist of circular chambered cairns (stone mounds) surrounded by standing stones, thought to be used for ritual and burial purposes. The layout of the cairns is aligned with the winter solstice sunset, suggesting astronomical significance. Clava Cairns are considered some of the best-preserved examples of this type of ancient monument in Scotland.

Inverness

Guided Inverness visit with free time. You can't visit the Highlands without spending a wee bit of time in Inverness. Most tour groups breeze past Inverness, however we think the beautiful capital of the Highlands is a must see during your time here. We will start our time in Inverness at Inverness Cathedral, before walking leisurely down the River Ness to take in beautiful views of Inverness Castle, Our guide will then show you a few more important sites such as the Town House, the Oldest House in Inverness, and the Victorian Market, before giving you around 45 minutes to browse the shops/cafes at your leisure. As a native Invernession our guide knows the city like the back of their hand and will be happy to share that local knowledge with you.
