Rand Memorial Nature Center

At the Rand Memorial Nature Centre in Freeport, Grand Bahama, travelers will experience the island's natural beauty and cultural heritage. Here's what visitors can expect: Nature Trails & Native Flora Explore over 2,000 feet of well-maintained trails winding through 100 acres of pine barrens and coppice forests. Birdwatching Paradise The centre is a haven for bird enthusiasts, especially from October to May when migratory birds join the resident species. Botanical Gardens & Wildlife Pond Visit the freshwater pond, once home to flamingos, now attracting various native birds. Educational Exhibits & Art Gallery The visitor center houses exhibits on Bahamian ecology, geology, and history, including a collection of sea shells. Wildlife Encounters Encounter resident animals such as the endangered Bahama Parrot, a red-tailed hawk, and Bahamian boa constrictors.
