Gevorkian Winery is a pioneer in Armenian winemaking, introducing innovative techniques like “kakhani,” ice wine, and pét-nat, while working exclusively with indigenous Armenian grapes.
Your experience at the winery will begin with a guided tour through the production facility, where you’ll see firsthand the winemaking process and learn about the history, philosophy, and unique techniques, like the ancient Armenian method of “kakhani,” when grapes are hung for 2-3 months to dry before they’re used to make wine. After the tour, you’ll head to the cellar for a seated tasting around a shared table, where you’ll sample four of a distinct wine: Ariats Voskehat Dry White, Ariats Areni Rosé Dry, Ariats Areni Kes Kakhani Red Dry, and 365 Pomegranate Reserve Semi-Sweet Wine. Each wine will be introduced by your guide, who will explain its unique characteristics and production method. Your tasting will be accompanied by a selection of Armenian cheeses, dried meats, lavash chips, and fig jam. To conclude, you’ll have the opportunity to visit a shop to purchase wines at exclusive factory prices.
