Get to know Minoo from Osaka Katsuoji Temple Waterfall and Ryuanji

Waterfall of Mino

Minoo Waterfall (Minoo no Taki) is a picturesque 33-meter high waterfall located in Minoo Park, north of Osaka. Surrounded by a leafy forest, it is especially popular in autumn because of the colorful leaves. It is easily accessed through a pleasant path of about 2.7 km starting from Minoo Station and crossing traditional temples and shops. It is an ideal place to enjoy nature near the city.

Minoo Park

The walk from Minoo Station to the waterfall is a scenic walk of approximately 2.7 kilometers that passes through a peaceful and charming natural environment. The well-paved, gently sloping path begins just outside the station and follows the Minoo River through a wooded valley. During the tour, you will pass traditional shops selling local sweets and the famous momiji tempura (fried maple leaves), as well as small temples, including the Ryuanji temple, associated with the spiritual practice of shugendō. In autumn, the trees on both sides of the trail stain red and gold, creating a spectacular natural tunnel. The sound of the river and birdsong accompany the path, which ends at the majestic 33-meter high Minoo Waterfall, a perfect place to rest, take photos and enjoy nature.
