Begin your journey through the old whimsical fishing villages until you arrive at Camara de Lobos. This village was made famous by Sir Winston Churchill as he liked to paint scenes from this beautiful village.

Here you will have time to take photographs, with a little free time to admire the beautiful scenic views from this quaint fishing village.

Your next stop will be Cabo Girao, the dizzy heights of this sea cliff village will give you wonderful views of the Southern coast from Cabo Girao.

Be brave and try out the suspended glass platform (skywalk) or if that is too scary, have fun watching the para-gliders and base jumpers jump off the top of the cliff as they also use this unique spot as a starting point.

There is also a little free time to take in a coffee, or souvenir shop. Throughout the journey your driver will be on hand pointing out the wide variety of vegetation, flowers and fauna.

This is an incredibly scenic journey as you go from stop to stop.

Camara De Lobos

Câmara de Lobos is a charming fishing village located just west of Funchal on Madeira Island. Known for its colorful boats, cobbled streets, and seaside views, it inspired Winston Churchill’s paintings during his stay. The village is famous for its traditional drink “Poncha” and relaxed, authentic atmosphere. Surrounded by terraced hillsides and banana plantations, Câmara de Lobos offers a glimpse into local life and culture, making it a perfect short stop for visitors exploring the island.

Miradouro Eira do Serrado

Perched at an elevation of 1,095 meters in Madeira's mountainous interior, the Eira do Serrado Viewpoint offers a breathtaking panorama of Curral das Freiras (Nuns' Valley), a secluded village nestled within a deep valley and encircled by towering peaks. Accessible via a short trail from the Estalagem da Eira do Serrado, this vantage point provides visitors with a unique perspective on the island's dramatic topography and rich geological history. The viewpoint is a favored destination for nature enthusiasts and photographers seeking to capture the essence of Madeira's rugged beauty.

Cabo Girao

Cabo Girão Cliff, rising 580 meters above sea level, is the highest sea cliff in Europe and a must-see attraction on Madeira Island. Located near Câmara de Lobos, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, coastal villages, and terraced farmlands. The highlight is the Skywalk, a glass-floored platform that lets visitors look straight down the sheer drop. Easily accessible from Funchal, Cabo Girão is a favorite spot for photography, sightseeing, and soaking in Madeira’s dramatic natural beauty.
