Combine history, cuisine, and natural splendor during this guided day trip in Asturias. Discover alpine viewpoints in the Lagos de Covadonga park. Learn Asturias’s origins at the Holy Cave of Covadonga. Sample regional dishes at one of the restaurants in Cangas de Onis. Start your tour on the private bus winding through a valley between high mountain ridges. Pass by small villages on the way up to Entrelagos viewpoint. From there, snap a photo of Lake Enol and Lake Ercina. Backtrack to the valley and nearby Covadonga Basilica. Outside the front doors, listen to your guide’s tales of local history. From there, follow along to the Santa Cueva de Covadonga. Now the cave holds his tomb. After returning to Cangas de Onis, take time to wander the town and find some lunch.
