Some places are best understood through their people. Split is one of them.
This tour isn’t about rushing from site to site. It’s about slowing down, feeling the city’s rhythm, and seeing how daily life and centuries of history live side by side.
We begin like locals do—over coffee. No hurry. Just time to take in the atmosphere.
Then we walk through spaces where life happens: Diocletian’s Palace, still full of homes and voices after 1,700 years. The Green Market, alive with tradition and conversation. Side streets and corners where real stories unfold—often missed by tourists, but essential to understanding the city.
Along the way, we talk about the people who shaped Split—fishermen, traders, families, and those who resisted change. Every generation left its trace, and Split carries them all.
Our journey will begin with a breathtaking view of the old town and Diocletian's palace. Then, we will walk to our first stop. A bite of Dalmatian delicates and I will share some local stories and tell you about the ways we prepare food.
This is where we'll stop to talk to vendors, see what they've made, and taste it. Farmers' products tell the most compelling stories.
Did you know Split was born within the walls of the Diocletian palace? We will walk around to see ancient houses blended with modern architectural solutions. We will start our journey below the city and walk our way up to the narrow streets and modern city of Split.
You will make your own way to the meeting points
