Day Trip from Paris - French Food Experience in a Country House
EASY ACCESS: 55 min from Paris by car or 1hr by direct train (2.5 euros) - Escape to this charming 17th-century stone house in a serene hamlet by the river. Cosima and Frédéric warmly welcome you, offering a perfect couple or family-friendly retreat.
Explore the house’s timeless interiors and stroll through its lush bamboo garden with 50 species. Uncover WWII shrapnel and WWI graffiti inside, immersing yourself in history.
Enjoy a delightful French lunch with wine, cheese, and coffee, paired with an apéritif and appetizers (no pre-set menu, let yourself be surprised!). The French gastronomic meal is recognized as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. Taste it with your hosts !
After lunch, wander with your hosts along the river, passing by medieval ruins and Cosima’s art studio.
A truly authentic experience with ordinary citizens: your hosts are not hospitality nor travel profesionals. Frédéric is a retired researcher and Cosima is an artist and retired tour guide.

Paris
10am, departure from Paris. Choose the private driver option OR book an Uber (about 80 euros) OR take a local train (2.5 euros+20 euros Uber).
Mauperthuis
At 11am, in the village of Mauperthuis, meet your hosts Cosima and Frédéric and spend 4 hours with them in their old house (see experience description above).
Paris
3pm, back to Paris.

- Visit to the bamboo garden, the interior of the house and atelier.

- 2-course French meal (main course + local cheese & bread + dessert). No preset menu: let the experience take you!
- A stroll with your hosts in the hamlet, river, medieval ruins...
- Coffee and/or Tea
- Round-trip private transportation (optional), including pick up.
- A gourmet-level culinary experience. But expect typical local/French homemade cuisine by your hosts.
- Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller

- You can either choose the "Transportation included" option (pick up at your hotel by our driver, mid-range car or van), OR get there by your own means. The precise address in the village of Mauperthuis will be provided after booking: 1. Use UBER or UBER RESERVE (up to 90 days in advance) to book your ride there and back (expect 95 euros one way for 4 people). If you do not book, you might not be able to find any available UBER driver nearby to leave the village. 2. Take a RER train (P Line) to Coulommiers (2.5 euros one way) at 9.17 am at Paris Gare de l'Est. No need to buy tickets in advance. In Coulommiers, call an Uber (20 euros one way). 3. RENT A CAR: expect 150 euros for a mid-range car for 2 days.

You can choose to be picked up from a list of locations, or alternatively, have the choice to make your own way to the meeting points
Please arrive at the pick up point 10 minutes before departure time.
Additional Information
If you choose the "Round trip private driver" option, please select your hotel, airbnb, or preferred location address for pick up. We will send our driver to pick you up and drive you back. Mid-range car, or van (4-6 people groups).
