A visit to Churchill Island (located off Phillip Island) calms the mind, with wide-open spaces to wander and fresh air to breathe. Explore the historical grounds and farming activities, walk the bay trails soaking in the tranquil scenery and enjoying the bird watching huts, or relax on the deck of the café with a coffee or tea in hand. Get involved in farming activities and demonstrations including animal feedings, sheep shearing, working dogs, whip cracking and blacksmithing. While you’re on Churchill Island, take the 2.5km North-Point Loop trail which takes you to the northern tip of the island where you’ll discover ancient Moonah trees (look for the twisty ones), basalt rocks over 50 million years old, and seabirds of all shapes and sizes. Phillip Island Nature Parks’ is visitor-funded and its team care for more than 1805 hectares of wild spaces on Phillip Island. Your visit helps to keep these spaces wild and protects nature for wildlife.
