Christ the Redeemer is an art deco statue depicting Jesus Christ, located on the top of Corcovado Hill, 709 meters above sea level, in Tijuca National Park, overlooking most of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 2007 it was informally elected as one of the seven wonders of the modern world. Located at the top of Morc do Corcovado, in Tijuca National Park, the monument is the best known Brazilian image in the world. Every year, more than 600,000 people are brought to Christ the Redeemer by the centenary Corcovado Railway, the country's oldest sightseeing tour. It all starts with the electric locomotive, centennial and twice environmentally friendly. It does not pollute and crosses the preserved Atlantic forest, belonging to the Tijuca National Park.
