Our driver will pick you up at your location (hotel, B&B or private apartment) and take you on a journey through the rolling hills of Tuscany. We will travel along one of the most beautiful wine roads in Tuscany called "Via Chiantigiana" among olive groves, cypress trees and vineyards up to the village of Castellina in Chianti.
Castellina In Chianti
Castellina is one of the most authentic hilltop villages in the Chianti Classico region. Located along the Chiantigiana wine road, it offers breathtaking views of symmetrical vineyards and lush woodlands, with its landscape dotted by charming stone houses and historic wine estates. Castellina’s name reflects its medieval role as a Florentine outpost and, in the late 13th century, it became the first site of the Chianti League, a coalition of three Florentine castles overseeing the region. Tucked within its fortifications, Castellina preserves much of its 15th-century character. After exploring this historic village, we’ll head to a traditional winery. Following a brief introduction to winemaking techniques, you’ll taste a selection of fine Tuscan wines, including Chianti Classico, Super Tuscan, Vermentino, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, and others.
Podere La Marronaia- Le Colonne Biodynamic Winery & Farm
After the first wine tasting, we will head to the Marronaia, a beautiful organic farm run by a local Tuscan family. Here, you'll be treated to a truly authentic Tuscan experience, beginning with a delicious, homemade lunch overlooking the stunning hillside views. The meal will feature traditional dishes such as hand-made pasta, bruschetta, cold cuts, aged pecorino cheese, extra virgin olive oil, and a drizzle of rich balsamic vinegar—each bite a testament to the region’s culinary excellence. You'll savor a selection of wines from the farm's own organic vineyards, gaining a deeper understanding of the region's winemaking traditions.
