The Botanical Garden is a world full of color and nature with an area of 19 acres. Its name honors the memory of José Celestino Mutis Sage, a notable director of botanical expedition. The Park promotes and carries out conservation activities, environmental education and research on the diversity of Colombian flora, in particular on the Savannah of Bogotá. The Park was founded in 1955 by the Colombian scientist Enrique Pérez Arbeláez. Within their collections, there are representations of: Andean forest, Oak Forest, Misty Grove, conifer, Criptogamium (plants with no flowers), herbs (medicinal plants), rose garden and greenhouses with plants from hot, dry weather and rainy, between many other varieties.
