Overview Amritsar is the largest and most important city in Punjab and is a major commercial, cultural, and transportation centre. It is also the centre of Sikhism and the site of the Sikhs' principal place of worship—The Harmandir Sahib, or Golden Temple. Guru Ram Das, the fourth Sikh guru. Jallianwala Bagh preserved in the memory of those wounded and killed in the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre that occurred on the site on the festival of Vaisakhi, 13 April 1919.

Stop At: Golden Temple After Breakfast at hotel, proceed to explore the city including a visit to Harmandir Sahib or Darbar Sahib also referred to as the Golden Temple. Maharaja Ranjit Singh covered the upper floors of the gurdwara with gold, thus giving it its distinctive appearance and English name of "Golden Temple". The temple has four entrances instead of the usual single entry, symbolic of the openness of Sikhism and the fact that followers of all faiths are welcome here. Duration: 120 Minutes approx. Visit Jallianwala Bagh which marks the site of one of the major heinous political crimes committed by the British during the twentieth century popularly known as the Amritsar Massacre. Duration: 30 Minutes approx. Admission Ticket Included
