Meet your friendly tour guide and driver in your hotel and head to the first stop: Reed Flute Cave (Ludi Yan), used as a hideout by Guilin's residents during the Japanese invasion in the 1940s.The cave got its name from a type of lush green reeds growing outside, which can be made into melodious flutes. Inside, its numerous stalactites, stalagmites, and rock formations are illuminated with neon lights. It rates as one of the top four tourist sites in the city.
After Reed Flute Cave visiting, continue to Fubo Hill, located inside Guilin city on the west bank of the Li River. A tall, yellow-gray rock rising from the river, Fubo Hill is believed to calm the rough waters below, hence its name"Subduing Waves Hill". You will visit the Returning Pearl Cave, Listening-to-the-Waves Pavilion, Big Iron Clock, One-Thousand-Buddhas Cave accompanied by your tour guide and listening the interesting story and history. On the Listening-to-the-Waves Pavilion, you will have a perfect view of the sceneries around it along the Li River.
Then you will stop for a nice local lunch. After that, visit the Elephant Trunk Hill. It is is the landmark of Guilin and the most famous of the city's rock formations.The hill looks like a giant elephant taking a drink water from the adjacent river.
