Get ready to experience the blast from the past of traditional Czech cuisine. Our Prague Retro Food Tour explores local spots which seemed as if they were stuck in the communist times of former Czechoslovakia. Something entirely different from typical tourist spots.
The tour visits 4 thematic spots, including a pub from before WW2 times, a cake shop where all grandmas from Prague have their weekly meetings, a famous Prague delicatessen with a history of 1916, and a socialist-era wine bar with draft wine from Moravian Slovakia region.
You will also discover some of the most beautiful passages during the walking transfers between our tour venues. We’ll provide interesting historical facts and recommend numerous other Prague pubs, restaurants, and cafés worth visiting.
To keep our tour as a truly communal experience, we do only small groups, which allow us to engage with each other and also be respectful to local residents and traditional customers of our venues.
We will meet in the New Town quarter where with it's mixture or 19th century Art Nouveau and early 20 century Functionalism architecture style. we will show you some non-touristy attractions and we will go to the first restaurant to try some typical Czech food and drinks.
We will walk through Prague's largest historical square on our way to a pastry shop.
We will walk through intricate network of beautiful passages around Wenceslas square within special attention to the largest one in Lucerna palace with it's cultural and historical importance.
