Walking Tour - Quebec City - The Heart of New France
The On This Spot app takes people on guided walking tours through the history that surrounds them.
At each stop on their journey, users will find themselves standing on the spot a historic photo was taken. They can view a then-and-now photo comparison, use the built in camera to create their own, and read about local history and how it ties into the broader human experience.
On this tour, we will start in the Lower Town where Samuel de Champlain first built l'Habitation, the first permanent European settlement in Canada. Afterwards we will climb the Breakneck Steps and take a tour of the Upper Town, and learn about life in New France in the 17th and 18th Centuries. Finally we'll walk along the Dufferin Terrace and climb the promontory up to the fort for a fantastic view of the city.
