"The streets of Vienna are paved with culture, the streets of other cities with asphalt. " These words from the great Karl Kraus are still as true as they were one hundred years ago. But see it for yourself once we explore the inner yards of the old imperial palace, the baroque alleys, the mysterious gateways between the houses, and the old palais filled with history.
On this tour, I'll make sure you see Vienna as the modern city that it is, located right in the center of Europe, but which is yet filled with a two thousand-year-old history that is still kept very much alive.
We start the tour at the very center of Vienna with its 900 year old Saint Stephen's Cathedral, that still marks the very center of Vienna to this day.
We'll then stroll along the Graben, the former moat of the roman city wall, now most lively street, where we will see the plague column in its center.
Via Bräunerstraße we will then walk up to the old imperial palace, the Hofburg, seeing its inner yards and countless reminders to the imperial past.
You will make your own way to the meeting points
