1.International Drivers Permits 2.SOFA Driving License for US Forces Japan 3.Japanese Driver's License Hardcopy issued by the local authority of each country (issued in Switzerland, Germany, France, Taiwan, Belgium, Estonia, or Monaco) with Japanese translation by the authorized organization is allowed to drive in Japan
If you are found to be under the influence of alcohol or intoxicated, you may not be allowed to participate in the tour.

- The International Driving Permits that Japan will allow is the 1949 Geneva Act. Each country has its own assigned agent (usually a major roadside service company) that is permitted to issue a 1949 Geneva Act format Driving Permit. There are no agents that will issue a 1949 Geneva Act International Driving Permit over the Internet. The correct format for the permit must be a booklet and must have the word 1949 Geneva, or the date of the actual convention, September 19, 1949 on the cover of the permit.
