Jews were spread worldwide after being exiled from their land. Many settled in central Europe, staying steadfast in keeping their old faith and customs amid constant persecutions.
Germany, including Berlin, excluded the Jews from daily life, but they insisted to integrate and eventually received full rights as citizens. From isolated ghettos and communities, they climbed to an influential social positions in the economy, science, culture and the new emerging democratic politics of Germany until the Nazis took power.
The tour will tell the story of the Jewish community in Berlin and Germany and the Nazi attempt to eradicate them from Europe.
This tour has special meaning for me as I descended from European Jews and I find interest in the history of the Jews in Europe and Berlin. I would love to share this knowledge and take you trough this fascinating historical experience.
