The museum is wheelchair-friendly. Two wheelchair users can be accommodated per special vehicle per hour, each with an assistant. Wheelchairs must be 80cmx140cm (width x depth dimensions) to fit inside the car, which has a maximum weight allowance of 500kg for the disabled and assistant. Likewise, wheelchair users may leave their chairs are welcome to use the standard vehicle
Filming and photography are permitted in all areas accessible to visitors (except Filmtheatre and Planetarium). The images and videos must only be used for private purposes
Food and beverage outlets are available inside the museum. Outside food and drinks may be consumed in the outdoor exhibition areas, but not in the halls or restaurants. During winter, a heated railway carriage will be provided next to the Rain Transport Hall for picnics
By bus: Take bus number 6, 8 or 24 to bus stop Verkehrshaus and walk for 3-4 minutes to the museum entrance
By train: From Lucerne railway station, take S3 or Voralpen-Express for 8 minutes and get off at stop Luzern Verkehrshaus
By boat: Take a boat from the ferry terminal at the main train station to the ferry terminal at Verkehrshaur- Lido
On foot: Walk along the lakeside promenade for about 30 minutes
