While the Heart of Paris beats on the Île de la Cité, its Soul lives in Montmartre. Perched above the city, this hilltop neighborhood has long been a haven for Parisians, with its cobblestone streets, winding alleys, and even smaller buses navigating its narrow roads.
As we explore Montmartre together, I’ll share local tips to help you experience Paris beyond the guidebooks—from hidden gems to unforgettable food spots.
At the summit, you'll be treated to one of the best panoramic views of Paris, often overlooked by first-time visitors. We'll also pass the famed love locks, a symbol of romance in the city.
Colorful street art, stylish boutiques, and the stunning Sacré-Cœur Basilica await—this is where the true spirit of Paris shines.
Start Times
While the Heart of the City rests on the Isle de Cité, The Soul of the City is alive in Montmartre. We will start at the Moulin Rouge, hearing the tales behind the red windmill. Then we will begin our winding path thru the charming neighborhood. Second stop as we being the climb is at Cafe des 2 Moulin the host to our favorite french heroine Amélie. We will walk the main drag on our way up to the artist studios of Picasso and others. After passing the most famously photographed streets in the area we will see the Clos Montmartre, the only vineyard in Paris. Can't help but pass La Maison Rose famously painted by Utrillo and in the same location for over 100 years. We enter the Montmartre Village to see artists in action and maybe even get a character or painting. We will leave the village to pass the love locks that lead to Sacre Coeur where we will enjoy the view. Along the way we will hear tales of Dalida and St. Denis in this village that Parisians and guest both love.
