Ecuador tips The weather in Ecuador is very unpredictable, we have prepared a list of recommended things to pack. The most important thing is not to be constantly checking the weather applications. They are generally not very accurate, many factors influence the climate in the Ecuadorian Andes and it is very difficult to predict them. 1. Hat and sunscreen. It's important to protect yourself even on cloudy days. Remember that we are on the equator. 2. Dress in layers. When it's sunny it can be quite hot (70F - 80F), but as soon as the day gets cloudy it can get a bit chilly (35F - 45F). Ecuadorians have a saying "dress like an onion", so carry several layers on hand in your backpack and be prepared. 3. Light rain jacket. During the day it is usually clear, but in the afternoon it can rain a little. 4. Coat or jacket. At night, the temperature drops quite a bit. 5. Comfortable shoes. It is essential to have adequate footwear for activities, hiking shoes are very useful on the trails in protected areas especially. 6. Camera and accessories. The landscapes of the Ecuadorian Andes are impressive. 7. Glove and hat. Especially for visiting the Cotopaxi and Chimborazo volcanoes, these items will come in handy as temperatures can drop to 30's F
