The archaeological site is exceptionally extensive and rich and conveys the image of a great cosmopolitan Mediterranean port. Delos had considerable influence on the development of architecture and monumental arts during the Greco-Roman period, as seen in the immense Hellenistic sanctuary. A great part of its treasure of masterpieces was found during the excavations and is exhibited today in Delos’ Museum. You will have approximately 3 hours to explore the archaeological site. Rineia is a small island on the southwest of Mykonos, right next to the historic island of Delos. Even though it is not as well known, it has an equally long and important history. Today it is uninhabited and considered an archaeological site. Several excavations have taken place on the island, uncovering a variety of ruins and artifacts. During the 19th and 20th centuries, Rineia was used as a quarantine area when plague and cholera outbreaks were occurring. Today, there are no permanent residents, but Rhenia is divided into sections and used for farming, organized by the municipality of Mykonos. Rhenia island consists of many delightful beaches with sparkling golden sand and turquoise crystal-clear waters, You will have approximately 3 hours to swim and snorkel as well as to have lunch on board.
