This tour will go to the area of Bethlehem. At the time of the Discoveries all our caravels and sailors departed from here to explore the world.
Since then, this area has become a symbol of the time perpetuated by the construction of the Jeronimos Monastery, the Tower of Bethlehem and, more recently, the Monument of Discoveries.

The Jerónimos Monastery is, together with the Torre de Belém, one of the most visited places in Lisbon. Here you can visit its church and cloisters. The Church of Santa Maria is totally different from any other in the world. Its single nave supported by six beautifully carved columns makes it appear to extend forever. The two cloisters are breathtaking with their decorative ornamentation and symbolism.
This tower was built during the 16th century on the north bank of the river Tagus to defend the city. Later it was turned into a lighthouse and customs. Here you can see an impressive Manueline style.
This impressive monument was designed to celebrate the Age of Discoveries in Portugal. It was inaugurated in 1960, marking the fifth hundredth anniversary of the death of one of the country's great discoverers, Prince Henry the Navigator. The monument consists of a set of sculptures that represent a proa of a caravella with the most important personalities in Portuguese history.
