The oldest and best-preserved imperial park in China, and one of its largest gardens, Beihai boasts more than 800 years of history and contains numerous historically important structures, palaces, and temples. Taking a boat trip on the lake is considered by many travelers as one of the most interesting things to do in the park.
With a couple minute climb to the top of JingShan Hill in the park. At the top we find views in all directions, impressive in each but of course the best views are of the Forbidden City which sits just below you. This is the highest point along the central axis of Beijing, which also the central point of Beijing City.
