You will make your own way to the meeting points
• Check-in is 20 minutes prior to the booked tour start time. • Our City Wonders guides will have a City Wonders tour sign for easy recognition. • The hike up to the crater of Vesuvius is optional and requires a good level of general fitness to complete. The hike is uphill at a 14-degree angle and 20 minutes long (about 1 mile). The hike is prevalently on soft ground, and adequate footwear is recommended. For those who prefer a more leisurely experience, you can instead choose to enjoy a scenic and informative walking tour led by an expert geologist at Vesuvius. • Temperatures on the Volcano may be a bit lower than temperatures on the ground, a sweater or light jacket is recommended, especially outside of the summer months. • This tour involves a fair amount of walking: comfortable shoes are recommended , a bottle of water and a hat are recommended especially in summer months. • Only small bags are allowed • From early November to February the Vesuvius isn't accessible and it is replaced with Positano, except for Christmas period (from 26/12/25 until 02/01/26) when Vesuvius is open. • During summer months in rare cases of inclement weather or strikes, the crater of Vesuvius may be closed to visitors, therefore, if this is the case, it is replaced with a visit to Sorrento where you will get free time to explore the city. • Gratuities for your guide/driver that provided excellent service are appreciated! • Infants do not have a reserved seat on the bus. • City Wonders is not responsible for any personal belongings that are lost or damaged.
