The capital of Penang, Georgetown was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site on 7 July 2008, as an acknowledgement of its well-preserved multi-culture heritage. Walking down streets of Georgetown is like walking through the paths of history, with outstanding colonial architectures and local cultures. Follow our tour guide to discover George Town on foot, beginning with St. George Church, walking down the Street of Harmony, Little India, Armenian Street, Pinang Peranakan Mansion, Khoo Kongsi and other attractions at the heart of the city.
We will meet in front of the church and start our journey on foot. This church was established in 1818, the oldest Anglican Church in South East Asia, still functioning today.
We will walk to the temple down the Kapitan Keling Mosque road. This is the oldest Taoist Temple in Penang, this temple was built in 1800. We will visit and discover the story of Chinese immigrants settling in Penang more than 200 years ago.
We will walk down China Street at the heart of George Town. On this street we will have a chance to see heritage buildings in George town like shophouses, and clan houses.
