Get initiated into the techniques of yoga on the shores of the picturesque Lake Pichola in Udaipur. The 5 000 year old science of yoga is India’s gift to the world. In Sanskrit, the word ‘yoga’ is used to signify any form of union or connection. Yoga is all about synchronising the body with the mind and breath through various breathing exercises, postures (asanas) and meditation.

You will be picked up from your hotel and driven to the shores of Lake Pichola where you will be met by your yoga instructor. The instructor will teach you some basic exercises to warm up your body. This will be followed by more complex techniques and asanas. During the entire session you will learn a blend of 12 asanas, including Surya Namaskar (salutation to the sun). These asanas are useful to keep your body vigorous, active and healthy. You will also learn some bending and spinal exercises. Later in the session you will learn how to regulate your breathing through a series of very simple breathing exercises (Pranayama). As you go through the various exercises your instructor will tell you about the health benefits of each. After the yoga session, you will be dropped back at your hotel.
