You will be picked up from your hotel in Delhi for the two and half hour drive to Vrindavan that is situated around 100 miles from Delhi. Your local guide will meet you in Vrindavan and show you around the town where Krishna spent his childhood. There are over 5 000 temples in Vrindavan. On this tour visit the two most famous temples - the Bankey Bihari Temple and Prem Mandir Temple. The beautiful idols of Krishna and his divine love Radha along with other maidens are a sight to behold. The Bankey Bihari temple is unlike other Hindu temples as it does not have any bells. It is believed that bells disturb the sleep of Krishna, who is worshipped here in his child incarnation.
After the temple visits, drive on to the nearby town of Mathura. Visit the Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple that is constructed on the site where Krishna is believed to have been born. Within the temple complex is a water pond where the child Krishna was bathed for the first time after his birth. Spend some time visiting the six shrines of the temple. The main shrine has beautiful 6 feet high idols of Krishna and Radha.
Afterwards, continue your drive to Agra. Upon arrival in Agra take lunch (beverage excluded) at a local restaurant. Next visit the Taj Mahal, the 17th century ivory white marble mausoleum that was commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Shahjahan in memory of his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It took over 25 years and 20 000 artisans to complete this jewel of the Mughal Empire. The delicately carved marble with floral motifs that have semi-precious stones and the fine latticework jalis are a visual treat. The 115 feet high central dome is spectacular. Later stop at a local bazaar and discover the handicrafts that Agra is famous for - marble and stone inlay work, leather and jewelry. At the end of the tour you will be driven back to Delhi and dropped off at your hotel.
