Shore Temple – A Timeless Marvel by the Sea The Shore Temple, located on the Coromandel Coast in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu, is one of the oldest stone temples in South India, built during the reign of the Pallava king Narasimhavarman II (Rajasimha) in the 8th century AD. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and stands as a brilliant example of early Dravidian architecture.
The Pancha Rathas (meaning "Five Chariots") are a group of monolithic rock-cut temples located in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu, carved during the 7th century under the rule of the Pallava king Narasimhavarman I (Mamallan). Despite their name, these structures are not actual rathas (chariots) but temples carved from a single long granite boulder. Each ratha is named after the five Pandava brothers and their wife Draupadi from the Mahabharata epic.
Arjuna’s Penance, also known as the Descent of the Ganges, is a massive rock relief carved on two giant granite boulders in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu. It dates back to the 7th century during the reign of the Pallava king Narasimhavarman I (Mamallan).
