Valley of the Kings
Valley of the Kings is located on the west bank Luxor and is the tombs of the Egyptian kings. We will visit 3 royal tombs and they are. (1)The tomb of Ramesses III, designated as KV 11, is a complex system in the Valley of the Kings. It has been known since antiquity,the wonderful decorations include colourful painted sunken reliefs featuring the traditional ritual texts (Litany of Ra, Book of Gates etc) (2)The tomb of Ramses1 It was discovered by Giovanni Battista Belzoni. It consists of a short entrance corridor and the burial chamber containing the king's sarcophagus, which is decorated with drawings of Ramses I with a number of deities. It appears from its decoration that it was completed quickly and hastily, as Ramses I is depicted in the presence of the gods Osiris, Ptah and Anubis, (3)The tomb of King Merneptah, son of King Ramses II, is one of the most beautiful tombs in the valley. It contains the royal sarcophagus .
